Online Marketing Mistakes

Well things aren’t this dire, but lets look at a few typical mistakes a lot of people make with online marketing.

  • Relying on a single social media tool. There’s gobs of social tools any business can use, we all know the most popular ones, and plenty of smaller online spaces that attract buyers with specific interests. Successful online marketing uses multiple social media tools to engage with multiple types of buyers. If you post regularly to your Facebook page – great – now how about using that same content on twitter and pursuing an entirely new audience?
  • Poorly Written Content.  Anyone reading copy with horrendous grammar and spelling mistakes is quick to move on and automatically dismisses your business. If you struggle with writing, there’s plenty of tools online to help or find a writer to create content for you.
  • Poor Call-To-Action. If you’re creating great content that’s applicable to your audience, but your not steering them to buy your product or service – then you’re leaving money on the table.  Having a consistent and simple call to action is critical, without this you’re wasting time and money.
  • Not Tracking Your Progress. Most online marketing tools also have a measuring component included. Leverage these tools to gauge what’s working and learn what to change.  Online marketing is a constant learning experience and there is always ways you can optimize your approach.
